!Mediengruppe Bitnik hail from Zurich and London. Their work is themed around the internet and survailence, using a number of different tequnices to involve the observer (subject) with the artwork, often in a random or involuntary manner for the subject. The work often rely on randomisation and outside influences, such as "Random Darknet Shopper", in which a computer algorithm buys articles from the dark web, without the artists influence, or "Delivery for Mr. Assange" in which a parcel with integrated camera is send to Mr. Assange, who at that time was living in the equatorial embassy in london, part of the work is reliant on the path of delivery that the artwork is being send through and records periodically the view and location of the journey. !Mediengruppe Bitnik's topics are a highly relevant, especially in the current day and age in which governments all around the world are starting to track internet usage and increase survailence of its subjects.
